The varsity Couriers volleyball team won two matches in three straight games each Friday and Saturday. Keystone fell 25-5, 25-6, 25-11 Friday before the Couriers dropped the Goshen Blue Blazers, a home-school team, 25-14, 25-16, 25-9 Saturday.
With the Couriers leading 4-2 in the third game Saturday, a Blue Blazer player was ejected for unsportsmanlike conduct. Earlier in the game, their libero had been forced to become a regular player because the coach marked the wrong spot for the libero. Buoyed by the two penalty points as a result of the ejection, the Couriers outscored the visitors 19-7 the rest of the way and improved their overall mark to 9-1.
The JV remained undefeated with a 25-16, 25-24 triumph over the Blue Blazers Saturday.
Both teams face usually tough Lakewood Park, a 1A school, at Auburn tonight and go on the road to Mishawaka Tuesday. Tuesday's opponent is First Baptist.
Coach Danette Yousey nears 100 wins in her five-year career. Yousey is 97-40 with four matches scheduled this week.
